Exploring Nature and Cooling Off With Friends

I just L O V E Saturdays!  Don't you?  Especially when ABSOLUTELY NOTHING IS PLANNED!  I secretly screamed YES in my head when I woke up this morning!  NO PLANS!

What to do what to do.......  I walked in our office, where we have just begun to rip out REALLY old linoleum that covers REALLY beautiful pine flooring,
Well.......it was just SO pretty outside, I quickly closed the office doors!  I just couldn't let this day to go to waste like working on that floor!  (LOL!)  So Bubba and I decided to head out to Landmark Park!  What's a heat index between 105-110?  So we loaded a backpack up with bottled water, bug spray, and sunscreen.

What a glorious day!  We saw "nature" everywhere.  Bubba and I were armed with our cameras and got some wonderful shots!
We found a hungry butterfly!
We had a blast walking along the mostly shaded boardwalk!
We found lots of things to take pictures of!
(Just adore that missing tooth!)
We also visited with the farm animals.  Bless them!  They were so hot!  They needed a big air conditioned barn!  ;)  Or maybe a sprinkler to play in?
After a tour of the garden, a little swing, and a trip to the gift shop, we headed home hot and tired!
Let me rephrase that, I WAS HOT AND TIRED!  Bubba was ready for more.

We got home and Neighbor "Sister" came over and asked Bubba to come hang out.  Off they went.  As I stood in the kitchen I could hear them discussing making "dirt salad" and "mud ice cream".  I just had to take pictures!  By the time I got out there, they were in a full force water war!
(Obviously preparing for a sneak attack!)
OH NO!  BUSTED!  RUN BUBBA RUN!
...and this sweet picture is Bubba and Neighbor "Little Man"!  Wouldn't you love to know what they're thinking?
Tonight as we prayed, I just thanked God again and again for today!  How amazing His grace and His glory!

More Fun at C--Lake

For our final summer hoo-rah, we went  back to the lake with some wonderful friends from Virginia.  It has been a lllllooooooonnnnnngggggggg time since we've seen each other and been able to spend time together!
Our friends came in and we headed straight to the lake, in a round about way!  They have lots of family in Dothan, so they spent the day visiting while I worked!  Then they headed down to the lake with JW and Bubba to arrive to a house FULL OF FLEAS!  OH MY GOODNESS!  GROSS!  YUCK!  UGH!  And to top that off R E A L L Y ?  So they all became exterminators and fought the little pests and the humans prevailed!
We had a wonderful time catching up and playing in the water!  Our sweet friends left EARLY (like 4 a.m. early!) for a 6 a.m. flight back to Virginia after a few days and it was sad to see them leave!  :(
Can't wait to see you guys again!  We'll have to meet up in Auburn for a few games this year!  WAR EAGLE to ya!
(OK-LOL...as far as the pic above of me in "the hat"....I normally wear a baseball cap in the sun.  I left mine in Dothan, so I improvised with this 1970s cap!  JW thought it rocked...I however had other feelings about it!  ;)  JW said it was a "tractor drivin" hat!  Oh well!  It worked!)
